Alecia Folkes, DO, MSc, is a skilled dermatologist serving patients at Integrated Dermatology of East Boca in Boca Raton, Florida.
Dr. Folkes earned her Bachelor of Science in molecular and microbiology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. She attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she graduated with a master's degree in biomedical sciences and a doctoral degree in osteopathic medicine.
Dr. Folkes completed a traditional rotating internship at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Queens, New York. This was followed by two years of research, one of which was completed at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, California, where she participated in clinical trials and treatment of patients with cutaneous lymphoma.
Following her years of research, Dr. Folkes completed her dermatology residency at Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, Florida, where she served as a chief resident in her last year of dermatology residency.
Dr. Folkes performs medical and surgical dermatology and is interested in research and staying up to date with new treatment options. Aside from working, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and volunteering with animals.
